First Appointment

Well we've made it through our first couple appointments with flying colors. Our first appointment was just to get the needed fluids for lab work. A few days later we returned and met with the doc for the first time. We are using Dr. Kris Citty, who was recommended to us by many close friends of Sara. We were grateful that all of the lab work came out great. After a couple other quick test the doctor explained to us what his game plan is for the next few months.

We both feel very comfortable with the way Dr. Citty is handling everything. He plans on meeting with us at least once a month for the next few months. The third trimester we'll visit him about twice a month.

One thing that he did that was great, emotionally and mentally, was that he repeated how great this pregnancy was going to be. He reassured Sara that her body is in great shape and everything should go very well over the next few months. He recognized that there are always some things that are out of our control, but that we shouldn't even worry or think about those things.

The most exciting part of the appt. came when he was able to very precisely find our child's brand new heartbeat!!! It sounded nothing like an adult heart beat, it was more like the wooshing sound of a helicopter; going about that fast too! He said he was pumping at about 150 beats per minute.

A week from now we'll have our first ultrasound:)

still waiting for it to really hit me, that we're having a kid. Sara and I did joke last night about how we could use a kid because we're getting kind of bored around the house!
